Engaging an Aging Workforce

As we close out 2016, I am reflecting on the many things I am grateful for at Purple Ink:

Our Purple Ink team – Catherine, Peggy, Emily, Laura, Susan, Stacy, Denise, and Terri for constantly and consistently striving to “make a purple splash” with our clients

Our Clients – for trusting us to serve you professionally and responsibly, and for challenging us to be even more creative, flexible, and positive.  Thanks for sharing your business and employees so that we continue to learn with every single project.

Our Purple Ink Values – Creativity, Positivity and Flexibility.  I value each of these every single day.

Our HR profession – for the resources provided by National SHRM, our amazing Indiana SHRM state conference, our professional certifications, our continued learning opportunities, and the opportunities provided at local SHRM chapters to network, learn, and obtain our continuing education credits.

Technology – what would we do without our ability to text, communicate via phone, Skype, FaceTime, AnyMeeting, utilize our applicant tracking system Jazz, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, store and maintain our information on the cloud, and have the amazing tech support from AIS.   We love to use them all to help us be more productive and communicate efficiently with each other, our clients, our vendors, and our candidates.

Opportunities to Serve Our Profession and the Community – with our ability to be flexible in working from home on a flexible schedule, we each have more opportunities to volunteer in our churches, our schools, with our kid’s activities, and in our communities.   I am particularly blessed to share a lot of my time with The O’Connor House, Guerin Catholic, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and Indiana SHRM.

Our Blog and Other Social Media Followers – you inspire us to write, to think differently and creatively, you refer us to clients and to amazing candidates to fill our clients’ open positions.

Our Training Participants – you keep us on our toes, inspire us to be extra prepared, and we learn from you – every single time.

Our Candidates – you may fill our client positions or you may still be seeking a position, but you share opportunities with others, you ask great questions, you make us better at interviewing, at preparing better job ads, and at finding new opportunities to share with you!

I am grateful for all of you who helped make 2016 the best year yet for Purple Ink!
