Over the past few months, we’ve been doing a series of blogs on our team, our strengths, and our HR specialties.
I am Susan, a Collaborator with Purple Ink, which means when they have a project so large they need extra hands or so unique where my specific expertise in human resources could be helpful, they pull me in. What attracts me to Purple Ink is the Positivity JoDee leads with and her team exudes, as Positivity is one of my top 5 Gallup Signature Themes.
As an HR Consultant, my practice includes a variety of HR services; advising businesses, executive coaching, career coaching and training. With very few exceptions, most companies want to treat their staff members fairly so they stay and grow as the business grows. Likewise, most employees want to deliver results for their employers, be challenged and grow in their profession. However, in the workplace, sometimes communication breaks down, competing interests distract individuals, or unanticipated change disrupts operations.
These are the times when an external HR Consultant can help businesses, their leaders, or their team members make adjustments or reframe how they are dealing with a situation. As I consult, I naturally find my Positivity surfacing as I focus first on what is working well in the organization or with the individual and how we capitalize on it. I have noticed that energy and optimism are contagious. Sometimes people just need to realize that they can affect change with focused discipline, an appreciative attitude and a sense of humor.
