How to Become a Creative Problem Solver
April 10, 2019

As most companies start a new year, it’s time to think about goals we need to achieve as a team. This year, one of our goals for Purple Ink is to do an internal recruiting assessment of our process, workflows, and candidate experience. The first place to start is to determine how you can create efficiencies and experience.

We asked ourselves, “How’s our recruiting process? Are we being consistent as a team? Are there manual steps that can be automated? Are our internal processes and workflows in our ATS still working for us? How can we work faster, smarter and more effectively for our clients?” One of those goals was to evaluate the JazzHR processes.

  • JazzHR Workflows
  • Settings and Integrations
  • Candidate Management
  • Candidate Communication Templates
  • Closing Jobs

It takes time. Once the goal was created, we set deadlines on checklist items using Trello. Trello is a great free tool that allows you to attach cards to a specific goal. You can select team members for each task and/or goal and track progress. We meet on a bi-weekly basis to stay accountable. In each one hour meeting we select a few tasks to focus on, discuss, document, and communicate those decisions to the other team members. If there are any remaining tasks outstanding, they are assigned, and we use the first 15 minutes of the next meeting to discuss and/or cross off the task.

Proud to say we are already 83% to our JazzHR process goal! The goal of tweaking the process is one most recruiting teams can revisit on a yearly basis, with business needs changing and ATS’s adding new features. You may be working harder than you need to or have functionality you never knew you had.

The Purple Ink team can help! Our recruiting assessment covers all areas of the candidate lifecycle and experience with your company’s brand. Contact us today to learn more about recruitment services.
