In our February 2022 free webinar, Purple Ink’s VP of Talent Strategy and Success, Jeremy York, discussed avoiding “colorblindness” and how we can support our people of color at work.
Let’s celebrate February, Black History Month, by talking about how employers can support their people of color. Many employers have taken a “colorblind” approach when it comes to building workplace culture; however, employees are asking to be seen authentically for who they are, and that includes their color and background.
Race- and ethnic-based conversations at work have long created apprehensions about legal and other pitfalls. But why? Why can’t we have a proactive and productive conversation about people of color at work? Is it fear? Disinterest? Ignorance? The world is changing, and we must provide support to people that makes sense for them. So why not talk about what people need to be successful…and that includes people of color.
So join us for a discussion about avoiding “colorblindness” and how we can support our people of color at work. You won’t want to miss it!
