JoDee Curtis is the Founder of Purple Ink and the ink pad, author of JoyPowered™: Intentionally Creating an Inspired Workspace, co-author of The JoyPowered™ Family, and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. JoDee has a passion for helping organizations and individuals discover their talents and do more of what they do well!
Prior to founding Purple Ink in 2010, JoDee spent 21 years in public accounting as a practicing CPA and, later, as a Director of HR. JoDee also has experience as a CFO, thereby bringing a unique financial and overall business approach. JoDee obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Evansville. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a SHRM – Senior Certified Professional, and a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach. She is a faculty member for National SHRM, a member of the National Speakers Association, serves on the State Council for Indiana SHRM, and is co-host of The JoyPowered™ Workspace Podcast. JoDee was named the IndySHRM Professional of the Year in 2013.
JoDee is a wife and mother of three humans and two labradoodles, and she loves to read and travel. She chairs the strategic planning committee at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and the board of The O’Connor House and is a member of Pass the Torch 500 Circle Club for Women and a board member for Forum Credit Union.

Emily is Purple Ink’s Manager of Marketing. She enjoys being able to exercise both her creative side and her analytical side, and as a Learner, loves helping to create new services and tactics and discovering the best ways to share them with the community.
Emily joined the team in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant. She has five years of experience helping Purple Ink and other small businesses hone and execute their marketing and branding strategies. She’s had a hand in publishing the JoyPowered series of books and produces The JoyPowered Workspace Podcast. Emily earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, with minors in Apparel Merchandising and Spanish.
When she’s not at work, Emily loves reading, traveling, running, and being an auntie to her two nephews.

Peggy is the Manager of Career Coaching Services at Purple Ink and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. Peggy enjoys connecting the right person to the right place, whether she’s career coaching, recruiting, or working on-site with a client. She is motivated to help create positive workspaces by offering creative solutions to problems in the workplace, resulting in reduced turnover, higher employee engagement, and increased productivity.
Peggy joined the team in 2014 and has over 15 years of experience in HR. Her primary focus was on full lifecycle recruiting with additional experience as an HR generalist working on employee relations issues, training, OFCCP compliance, benefits administration, and employee engagement programs. She has worked in the banking and advertising industries, and has consulted with various nonprofits as well as clients in the finance, insurance, manufacturing, construction, and travel industries. Peggy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and English from The University of Michigan. She is a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional and a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and IndySHRM. Peggy is a Certified Professional Résumé Writer, a member of the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches, and a member of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy’s 28th class.
When she’s not at work, Peggy plays tennis, travels to Michigan, volunteers as a mentor at The O’Connor House, is a leader and Strengths coach in the Strengths ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 kids, and two dogs.

Laura joined the team in 2016. Before that, she gained over 10 years of experience in the healthcare and insurance sectors. As a Benefits Specialist, she coordinated the administration of all employee and physician benefit programs for over 800 lives. She also held a high-level claims position for United Parcel Service handling Family Medical Leave and worker’s compensation. In addition to benefits, she has experience with recruiting, onboarding, new hire training, payroll, and employee relations. Laura earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University, with a minor in business. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a SHRM-Certified Professional, and a member of SHRM.
Away from work, Laura enjoys being outdoors, traveling and staying active with her two young boys and husband.

Denise is a Trainer for Purple Ink, co-author of The JoyPowered Family, and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. With Learner in her top 5 Strengths, she is passionate about continuous learning both for herself and others.
Denise joined the team in 2016. Before that, she spent her career as a teacher and trainer; first as a high school teacher, and later in adult education. She spent 22 years as the Adult Faith Formation Director at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where she designed and led individual learning, group studies, retreats, and workshops, and even wrote a nationally published bible study series. Denise earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language and Literature from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts degree in Theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, also in Philadelphia.
Outside of work, Denise is a leader and a Strengths coach in the Strengths ministry at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, volunteers at The O’Connor House home for unwed, homeless, pregnant mothers, and has volunteered and worked in Marriage Prep and Marriage Enrichment ministries in the Church for over 35 years.

Stacy is an HR Consultant with Purple Ink. She is passionate about approaching daily challenges as opportunities to provide a positive compassionate and encouraging approach when working with clients to provide innovative and practical solutions.
Stacy joined the team in 2016. Before that, her primary focus was providing complete Human Resources Generalist support in matters including recruiting, employee relations, policy development, FMLA, and benefits administration. She worked in the medical device manufacturing and food manufacturing industries, managing the HR functions for a diverse customer base including Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Information Technology. Stacy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Movement Sports Science from Purdue University.
In her free time, Stacy can often be found cheering on one of her sons at their many activities, or at their school sharing Team Building exercises with the students.

Kira is an HR Consultant with Purple Ink. She finds joy in getting to meet new people, hearing others’ experiences, and discovering others’ needs.
Kira joined the team in 2017. She’s a recent college grad and was part of residence life as a Resident Assistant (RA) for 2 years and as an Assistant Resident Director (ARD) for her senior year. She also worked at United Way of Central Indiana as their Back Pack Attack Intern where she managed volunteers, maintained good public relations with UWCI clients, and coordinated all logistical aspects of running the BPA program. Kira earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership from Anderson University.
Outside of work, Kira enjoys spending quality time with her husband, dog, family, and friends. She also loves kids and someday hopes to have 3!

Caitlin is the Manager of Training Services at Purple Ink. She is also a CliftonStrengths specialist and serves as a CliftonStrengths coach. Caitlin joined the team in 2017. She previously worked as a commercial real estate appraiser for Valbridge Property Advisors, while also devoting time to one of her greatest passions – coaching. She spent two years in Philadelphia as part of Teach for America. Caitlin earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish from DePauw University, where she captained the 2007 national championship winning women’s basketball team. She earned a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Purdue University.
Outside of work, Caitlin loves adventuring with her husband and four young children.

Erin is Purple Ink’s Director of Consulting Services and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. Erin’s top strength is Achiever and she truly enjoys working hard and gains energy by accomplishing more work. Every day starts at zero, and tackling projects big and small helps give that sense of accomplishment to benefit her clients, peers, family and friends.
Erin joined the team in 2017 as a Consultant. Before that, she was an HR Director in the professional motorsports industry and worked in the healthcare industry for ten years as a Program Director and HR Senior Recruiter. Her primary experience has been in talent management, performance planning and development, employee development and training, employee relations, compliance, reporting and audit.Erin earned her bachelor’s degree from Butler University and an MPA from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a focus on Human Resources. She also has a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from IU School of Law. Erin is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for IndySHRM and has been an active member of SHRM and IndySHRM for 13 years, serving in various roles in the local chapter.
Erin sits on the Carmel Library Foundation Board, is a Pass the Torch 500 Circle member, Women’s Fund Alumnae Committee member, and Small Group Leader at College Park Church, where she is a member.

Lisa Helms is Purple Ink’s Director of Recruiting, HR Technology. She has a true passion for helping companies gain a competitive edge utilizing her many years in Talent Acquisition. Over the years, Lisa has been a part of how technology has evolved the HR practice and can help organizations hire more effectively.
Lisa joined the team in July 2018. Before that, she consulted and managing global recruiting teams in the technology industry. Many of which included high growth, startup organizations known for competitive and fast-paced environments. Her primary experience includes Talent Process Reengineering, Project Management, and Technology Implementation. Lisa is active in the HR community including local SHRM chapters, networking events, and creating local groups utilizing social media as a “go-to” resource where HR Professionals can further connect and ask expertise of their peers.
Lisa resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with her husband and daughter. She enjoys volunteering her time with Dress For Success’s Professional Women’s Group (PWG) which includes job readiness classes for their clients re-entering the workforce.

Liz is Purple Ink’s HR Coordinator and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. She has a special interest in finding the perfect fit for a role and creating a happy ending for both the person and the company.
Liz officially joined the team in 2019 after interning in 2018. She earned bachelor’s degrees in HR Management & Business Management from IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business. She chose HR after she took a mandatory HR class and enjoyed learning about laws and policies.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys traveling, going to church, crafting candles, spending time with family and friends, animals, baking, and exercising.
Ashley joined the team in May of 2018. Before that she worked at Centerstone, a not-for-profit mental health organization, as a Family Support Specialist. There, she taught children and their families coping skills such as communication, organization, problem solving, and self-care for disorders such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Ashley earned a Bachelor of Art in Psychology with a concentration in French from Indiana University. A few years later, she completed a certificate course in Human Resources Management through Villanova University and has plans to return to school for her MBA with a specialization in Human Resources.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys hiking, playing kickball with Bloomington’s adult sports league, and making her own wine.

Catherine Schmidt is a Collaborator with Purple Ink and is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Catherine has a special interest in career coaching and recruiting and finds joy when she can connect the right person to the right opportunity.
Catherine joined the team in 2013 as a consultant. She has 10 years of experience managing various HR functions, including recruiting, creating training programs, compliance, and performance development initiatives. She has worked in a variety of industries such as professional services, manufacturing, and non-profit settings. Catherine earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a SHRM – Certified Professional, a Predictive Index® Analyst, certified Strong Interest Inventory interpreter, an Anger Management Specialist, and a Certified Professional Resume Writer. She is a member of SHRM and AHRM in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In her free time, Catherine enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two loud but lovable dogs. She also is passionate about yoga and teaches yoga to kids and adults as a registered yoga instructor.

Susan White is the CEO of Susan Tinder White Consulting, a Collaborator with Purple Ink, co-host of The JoyPowered Workspace Podcast, and is currently writing The JoyPowered™ Team. Susan has a passion for identifying, developing, coaching, and retaining talent.
Susan’s experience includes 30+ years as a Senior Vice President & Human Resource Executive at JP Morgan Chase. Currently, she consults with executives in a variety of industries, government entities, and not-for-profits. She is a faculty member of SHRM . Susan is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional, a Senior Professional in Human Resources, a member of National SHRM and IndySHRM, and has been an adjunct faculty member for the University of Indianapolis. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University and has completed numerous post-graduate courses.
In her free time, Susan enjoys reading, funny movies, and traveling. She is on the Advisory Board for Disability:IN and serves on the United Way Human Services Professional Renewal Committee.
