One in five American adults experience a mental health disorder in a single year. Almost half of all American adults will experience a mental illness during the course of their lifetime. More than 20 million Americans ages 12 and older will face an addiction.

Are you prepared to address mental health and substance use challenges in your workplace?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches people how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, offer and provide initial help, and guide people toward appropriate care.

MHFA Covers:

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges
  • How to interact with a person in crisis
  • How to connect a person with help
  • Expanded content on trauma, substance use, and self-care
  • How to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan

Participants will complete self-paced pre-work, which will take roughly two hours and must be completed before the virtual training course. Then, they’ll join certified Mental Health First Aid trainer Kourtney McCauliff for a virtual training session on June 11th from 10 am – 4:30 pm ET (with a break for lunch). After completing the program, participants will be certified Mental Health First Aiders!

Registration closes June 8, 2026 to allow for pre-work to be completed.
