The Client
Covering Kids & Families of Indiana (CKF-IN) is a non-profit organization that facilitates and supports accessible health for all Hoosiers with a primary focus on healthcare coverage and children’s development.
The Situation
During the Covid-19 pandemic when CKF-IN shifted from partially to fully remote, the Director knew their paradigm had shifted and that she was not getting the instant input she had always received from employees. Their work had also slowed down, and she felt it was a great opportunity for professional development. Some of their team members had been trained on CliftonStrengths® in the past, and she felt that “common language” was empowering to all of them.
The Solution
CKF-IN’s Director enrolled seven team members in a Purple Ink leadership series. The series began with each team member taking the CliftonStrengths® assessment to identify their Top 5 strengths. Then, the group came together to learn about their strengths and how to apply them for professional growth in multiple leadership topics. The Director felt every participant gained more self-awareness, strong leadership skills, and courage.
The Outcome
Thanks to their focus on strengths and leadership development, CKF-IN survived the Covid-19 pandemic without losing any employees. The team was empowered with new skills and understanding. Leveraging their own and other employees’ strengths has led to promotions from within and many training participants taking on new responsibilities. In late 2024, CKF-IN engaged Purple Ink again to provide advanced CliftonStrengths® training to better understand their dynamics as a team, create powerful partnerships, and name, claim, and aim their Full 34 strengths!
